Theater, Berlin collection
Scope and Content Note
This collection documents the theater scene in Berlin from 1913 to 1933. It consists primarily of theater programs, newspaper reviews of plays and theater vouchers. These are glued in two scrapbooks found in folder 2 and 3. Some loose theater programs, reviews and vouchers in an envelope are included at the end of folder 2. The clippings are arranged in chronological order. An index corresponding to the arrangement of the scrapbooks, listing all the clippings chronologically can be found in folder 1. The index also provides an overview and finding aid of the artists, directors, authors and reviewers featured in the clippings. The index also indicates that some clippings are missing. The last folder includes, among correspondence and other materials, a program of the Piscatorbuehne in Berlin for the season 1929/1930.
