Scope and Content Note

The collection consists of material relating to Betty Kaplan’s involvement in two volunteer philanthropic groups affiliated with the Jewish Chronic Disease Hospital of Brooklyn, New York (founded 1929); the Lillian R. Spector League and the Mildred Forman Foundation for Cardiac Children. Included are notebooks chronicling the events of the Lillian Spector League, anniversary books and dinner-dance journals of both organizations, and a photo album of a testimonial dinner honoring Betty Kaplan.

The collection is valuable to researchers studying women's philanthropic organizations and the Jewish Chronic Disease Hospital.

The collection is entirely in English and contains printed materials - anniversary journals, newspaper clippings - a photo album, and minutes of meetings of these two philanthropic organizations.
