Biographical Note

Leopold Friedberg was born in Karlsruhe in 1881. After completing law school, Leopold Friedberg took over his father's law firm and expanded it to one of the largest in town. In 1938 he was arrested and deported to Dachau concentration camp. He emigrated to France in 1939, to England in 1940, and eventually to Christchurch, New Zealand.
