Eva Engel Collection

 Collection
Identifier: AR 6118

Scope and Content Note

This collection contains a longer manuscript on Erich Kahler's biography, two shorter manuscripts on Moses Mendelssohn, and two letters written during the Third Reich.

The manuscripts were all written by Eva Engel, and are biographical in nature, but On editing does delve into Engel's own experience of editing and publishing Mendelssohn's works. The two letters included in this collection were given to Engel by relatives of the correspondents. The short letters from noted academics discuss the works of Mendelssohn and Fichte.
