Milli Frank Correspondence
Scope and Content Note
This collection contains letters and postcards to Milli Frank from her family in Germany, and later in France. Correspondents include her parents, Helene and Simon Hess; her uncle and aunt Karl and Emma Herz; her aunts Alwine Klein and Regine Herz; and other uncles and aunts. Other correspondents are Wilhelm Haberer (Montevideo), her cousin Heddy Lumer née Heller (Montevideo), Karl Meier, and Gustav Wurzweiler.
Family and personal names in the letters are underlined in red, probably by Milli Frank, and brief summaries of the people mentioned in the letters are written in red on the envelopes. List of topics are also written on many of the envelopes, likely written by Frank for her reply letters.

Biographical Note
Milli Frank (also called Malli) and her husband Walter (Werner) Frank left Germany and immigrated to the United States, settling in Brooklyn by 1937. Milli Frank's parents Helene and Simon Hess (Frankfurt am Main) and uncle and aunt Karl and Emma Herz (Offenbach am Main) do not appear to have survived the Holocaust. Milli Frank's aunt Alwine Klein of Mannheim was sent to the concentration camp in Gurs in 1940, and was moved around French camps until her death in 1944, in Cornil.

Abstract
This collection contains letters and postcards sent to Milli Frank in Brooklyn, New York, between 1937 and 1944, by her parents, aunts, and uncles in Germany, and later, France. None of them appear to have survived the Holocaust. The collection also includes a small number of letters from cousins and others.
Arrangement
The folders are arranged chronologically by year. The letters are also arranged chronologically, except postcards, which are found at the front of each folder.

Processing Information
Materials were rehoused in acid-free folders and in a new acid-free box.
